Went to the pediatrician yesterday to have Lucas checked up for his jaundice. The doctor said he looks great and the jaundice is 90% gone and should be completely out in a week or so. The other big news is that Lucas has gained 10 ounces since his last weighing! We were so happy to hear that mainly because he had such a hard time feeding the first few days. At birth, he weighted 6 lbs. 10 oz. Two days later, at his first doctor’s visit, he lost some weight (which is normal) and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. And, now, he is still slim and trim, but very healthy, 7 lbs. 1 oz. at 12 days old. Continue Reading »

Lucas is only 10 days old, but there are so many signs of his rapid growth. His little blue beannie that was once made his tiny little head looked like a bean is now fitting more snugly. Hopefully, we can continue to appreciate his days as a newborn because I know we will wake up one day and he’ll be crawling around like a crazy baby. For now, the milestone that I am looking forward to the most is him being able to recognize us and smile/giggle at us. I can’t wait until then…I can already imagine the hundreds of pictures filling up my iPhoto. Continue Reading »
