Two Month Update

Lucas is a little over two months old now and he’s so much more lively. He wakes up with a smile every day and is smiling more and more. He will look at you and if you make a funny face and sound, he will give you a big grin. It’s really a treat to see. Mom even says that he started to giggle the other day. I haven’t heard it yet, but can’t wait until I witness it.

Whooohooo!

His hair still sticks straight up and is still kind of kinky. I have a feeling that he will have my same thick hair. Not sure if it will be so wavy as my fro, but his hair is thick. His cheeks are filling up and his body is getting a little more plump. Hopefully, he will continue to gain weight and be a chubby little baby. His head and neck are getting stronger and we barely have to support it now when he is vertical. He loves to be carried with his chest to your chest and with his head above your shoulder.

For the most part, he still sleeps in our bed, but we are trying to get him to sleep in his own room in his crib. It’s about 15 feet away from our room so it’s a little far. Hopefully we can transition him over there soon. He has been sleeping longer at night. Where his feedings are about 2.5 - 3.5 hours apart during the day, at night he is pushing 4, sometimes even 5 hours after 1am. We would have to wake him up to eat. This has been a welcome relief that has enabled us to sleep a little better.

Rocking In His Room

He has weird pooping patterns. Sometimes, he will go without pooping for a few days and then all of a sudden, poop three to four times in one day. Crazy stinky watery poop. I hear it is worse as they get older and eat solids, but it’s still pretty bad.

He seems to be ahead of schedule in many of the milestone moments and that is great for us worrysome parents. He can hold his head pretty steady and smiles a lot. These are things that a three month old should be doing. So these are all encouraging signs.
