We won’t be seeing cousin Zachy jumping around and dancing to his favorite song for a while. He will be going back home to Milwaukee tomorrow and Lucas will be all alone at Grandma’s house. Zach’s mom Di came from Milwaukee to spend her birthday here with the family and we had a big celebration lunch today at my mom’s house. We had tons of food for Di’s birthday gathering and all we did today was eat and watch movies. Steak, ribs, crabs, oysters and even spaghetti. I’m still recovering.

My cousins, Sara and Mutya, are also here from the Philippines, so we had a nice big gathering. Sara will be staying here in SoCal for school and will be attending Santiago Canyon College in October. Mutya will be going to Milwaukee to help out with Zachy for a few months. Then Lola will soon be able to go back to the Philippines. The oldies were also here visiting from Loma Linda to hang out with the familia.

It was only one month ago when we had three little babies in the family here in California. But now with Tristan in the Philippines and Zach in Milwaukee, Lucas will be growing up as the lone baby here. It would have been fun for all three of them to start walking together and running around like maniacs, but I guess we can witness those for their next family gatherings. I wonder how close they will be because if they all lived here, it would have been guaranteed that they would all be constant playmates.

And not only will Lucas be without his cousin Zach, but we also found out today that his nanny is leaving. Lucas’s nanny was only here for about six weeks but she was getting pretty good with him. She has decided to go back to the Philippines with her husband. So now, my mom will be primarily taking care of Lucas during the day while we go to work. She will begin to look for another maid/nanny to help her with Lucas and with work around the house. I wouldn’t mind sending Lucas to a daycare, but Mom insists on taking care of him until he is a little older.
