Ok, so I missed the three month update by a few weeks. Too many poopoo diapers to change. In the past month and a half, Lucas has shown incredible growth and so many personality changes. Of course, he can now turn over onto his belly. So he wants to do that all the time, even when we are trying to change his diapers and his poop is all over his butt. So now, we have to wrestle with him to keep him on his back.
He is definitely more alert and can follow things with his eyes now. He looks for you where ever you go. His most favorite thing to do is shove his hands down his mouth. No matter where he is, that is the first thing he wants to do so, of course, his shirts are always soaking wet with saliva. He will pretty much put anything in his mouth… toys, clothes, blankets, my finger, anything.
Overall, he just moves a lot more. He’s becoming quite the squiggly little dude. Always kicking his feet in the air and flapping his arms up and down. It’s fun to see him so active. His neck is really strong now so we are able to hold him facing forwards with out worrying about his head flopping to the right or left. He’s also much, much louder now. He’s been screaming, laughing and giggling more and more. His little personality is starting to come out and i’m getting the feeling that he’s going to be a little feisty fellow.
The Lucas behavior that bugs me the most is how he rides in cars. He pretty much hates it. If he is awake and in his car seat, he starts to get uncomfortable and lets you know it. When we are moving at a fast rate, he starts to calm down, but when we stop at a light or stop sign, he starts to cry. This happens practically every morning on our ride over to my mom’s house. If there’s traffic, forget it. Get used to the crying. The funny thing is when he arrive, and I take him out of his car seat, he is all smiles and forgets about all the crying that happened just a few minutes ago.
He’s a pretty happy baby and doesn’t give us too much trouble. At the 3 1/2 month mark, I’ll give him an A-. The minus is for unnecessary in-car crying!
