The Time Has Come

At first I didn’t like the long hair, but it kept on growing and growing and I grew to love it. For the past six months, long hair looked really good on Lucas and everyone liked it as well. He looked so cool and California, how could you not like it. But after months of deliberating whether or not we should cut his hair, we finally decided that it was time. It’s not that we didn’t like the way it looked on him. Actually, I loved that crazy shaggy mop top; it made him kinda hip. It was a comfort decision.

Comparison

It’s been super hot the last few weeks and Lucas sweats like crazy. His head has been smelling like a stinky boy and he keeps on rubbing his hot sweaty neck. We could tell that it was getting to him so we pulled the trigger. Mommy and Grandma took Big Crazy Foo to First Cut in Fashion Island to get his first real hair cut. Tey said that he was great in his little airplane chair and didn’t cry at all. They got a really good stylist and she finished in about 10-15 mins. Afterwards, everyone kept on saying “Now, we have a little boy!” and everyone who liked the long hair said that Lucas still looked cute. Everyone was happy.

When I got home and saw him for the first time, it was weird. He looked completely different. Maybe it was because they had spiked his hair up with gel and now we could see his forehead, something that we only saw if he was taking a bath. He truly looks like a little boy and kind of reminds me of me when I was little :) I’ve already gotten used to the short ‘do and can’t wait to take more pictures of him. It feels like it’s the next step in his growth as a little boy. But I wouldn’t mind if we grew it out again, back into the surfer boy look. Everyone needs some variety.
