We’ve been back from the Philippines for about a week now and amazingly I am still adjusting to the time difference. It doesn’t help that Lucas will still wake up around 3 or 4 am to play for an hour or so. And, of course, he can’t play by himself and Mommy needs her rest for her 5am wake up call, so Daddy is here to the rescue. The problem is that Lucas was still taking crazy long 3 or 4 hour naps during the day as recent as a few days ago. But now, I think he is doing a lot better. He’s pushing 5am and is getting closer to his pre-trip wake time.
There are a bunch of things that I’m still missing that we experience during our trip. I’m still getting used to not having food ready when it’s time to eat. God, it feels great to realize that it is noon and all you have to do is go downstairs and food is magically waiting for you on the table. And the magic clean laundry and dishes are a treat too. Besides washing my hands and taking a shower, I didn’t even see any other form of cleaning liquids. I guess most of the things I miss are superfluous maid-related things, but those are the luxuries that we don’t get to enjoy here in the states, so I guess I pay more attention to them.
So now, our refrigerator is empty and the dirty dishes and laundry are piling up. Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!! For some reason, it feels like such a hassle to cook when a month ago, we enjoyed cooking almost everyday. This feeling will only probably last until our next good home cooked meal. But I guess we have to go to the grocery in order to get that accomplished. Such trivial hassles!
Everyone is pretty much back to normal. I’m doing some stuff. Tey is back at work. Lucas is with his Grand Mommy during the day. Koda is back here at home. And, of course, there are many new things coming up in the very near future that will soon be announced. So, stay tuned.
