On Saturday, I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding with Kevin Derek in Upland, CA. I’m not too familiar with this part of Southern California, but it was a nice place…close to Mt. Baldy. The ceremony and reception was held at Imagine That!, which is a banquet facility that holds all kinds of events including weddings. The bride and groom were really cool and down-to-earth, but they were both super nervous before the ceremony. Once they saw each other, the seemed to relax and the festivities made them even more comfortable. Besides the usual reception stuff, they played some “How well do you know your spouse?” games which were really funny. I love being at receptions when everyone is laughing, having a good time, including myself. Here are some pics.

She was really nervous at this point. This was right before she saw the groom.

The groom on his Motorola Q. Slick phone…yes I’m a geek.

She was such a cutie and was always by her aunt’s (the bride) side.

There was this one yellow-orange tree. I imagined a cross-process right when I saw it.

This path in the park was a nice setting. We took a bunch of shots there.

The groom wasn’t comfortable with all the smiling, but he did like the kisses!

My first shot of them as a married couple.

I love following the videographer’s light during these moments. I find that their video light gives some really nice mood lighting.

I loved this game. It made for some really cool shots.

They were walking around greeting everyone all night and their hands were almost always locked. Sweet.

Your images are so clean, I love them.

I’m thinking about taking up photography as a hobby myself and will one day be asking some advice from you. Are you or have you booked your trip to SXSW this year? I’m still not sure if I’m attending yet. But let me know if you have booked already or are planning to go. I heard the hotels are pretty much gone right now.
BTW – a guy I know of from college does is a big photographer… jus figured if you need inspiration you could check his site out too.
