Since I’ve been out of town for the last week, I didn’t get a chance to get caught up in all this iPhone hype. I heard about the madness at the Apple and AT&T stores, but just observed from about 9000 miles away. While in the Philippines, I read all the reviews that I could find and was still pretty skeptical about it. It doesn’t have 3G, it doesn’t copy and paste, it doesn’t BCC, it doesn’t use bluetooth to transfer files, it doesn’t take video clips, it doesn’t do this and that, blah, blah, blah. I thought to myself that I would wait and see. Maybe I would get the next version after they fix the bugs. But in my first day back, I just had to stop by the Apple store and play with the little bad boy.
I picked it up, played with it for about 2 minutes. Then I turned to the sales guy next to me and said “If you got’em, I’ll take one!” Pretty crazy! I was just blown away by this little thing. So, I didn’t really want it, but I was just so unbelievably impressed that I let temptation get the best of me. Good thing that I’m already w/ AT&T and that my old Nokia was in need of a replacement. That made it a lot easier. I encourage all of you to go play with one, even if you don’t plan on buying one. Just to see what the fuss is all about. At the least, you can see what all phone manufacturers will be striving to achieve for the next few years. Pretty funny, I took a pic of me holding it with a big grin on my face using my old Nokia phone and emailed it to Tey. She got a kick out of it.
Anyway, that’s my iPhone story…

That’s my crazy hubby!!! I guess no more diapers for Lucas….ahahahh :P
July 5th, 2007, at 3:40 pm #who needs diapers anyways…

July 5th, 2007, at 5:58 pm #Lol, that’s great! I truly enjoying mine. Once you’ve used an iPhone, you can never go back.
July 5th, 2007, at 6:33 pm #I’m a bit jealous here, bud. My wife and I would have to drop our current contracts to make the current switch, plus we would each want one, so the price is a bit out of line with our budgets right now! By around $2k! =)
I am glad you’re lovin it.
July 5th, 2007, at 6:49 pm #Hi Jan! Just wanted to say hi & tell ya ..I’m soooooooo jealous!!! I’m surrounded by iPhones!!! I want one!! :) Nice work by the way!!!!
July 6th, 2007, at 10:26 am #I’m on the fence about it. I mean it’s awesome but I hardly use my phone and I spend all day on the internet at work. Do I really need to take the internets with me?
The google maps thing is cool though… I can see that coming in handy.
I better stay away from the Apple store for a while as I can see my impulsive side taking over as soon as I hold it.
July 6th, 2007, at 11:44 am #If I didn’t have stupid T-Mobile, I would be ALL ABOUT IT! Lucky duck!
July 6th, 2007, at 12:11 pm #hey people. It’s absolutely the best device I’ve ever used! The interface is seriously to die for I almost got a blackberry a few months ago and thank goodness that I didn’t
Mariano, I’ll be texting you.
Dustin, in time my man. You of all people will truly appreciate this thing.
Donna, if you ever need to email on the road , you gotta get one! But otherwise, you are right.
Mae, it’s cool to here from you! Seriously, iPhones everywhere!
Kate, when you get yours, I’m sure Millie will be all over it too! Like lucas is w/ mine.
July 6th, 2007, at 1:04 pm #You just happened to impulsively by the 8GB version, too!?!?? My neighbor has one and I’m making visits to his house under the guise of borrowing sugar just to play around with it! Good stuff. If I can wait, I’ll get one on round 2….that is a big IF! Congrats!
July 6th, 2007, at 6:24 pm #Commenting from an iPhone ;)
Just had to do it…
July 6th, 2007, at 6:28 pm #Ohh….pretty! I want…I want…I want!! I’m just not sure about switching to AT&T. I love my plan, I just LOVE that phone! Things that make you go hmmm…..
July 8th, 2007, at 5:33 pm #I got a chance to play with one this weekend (finally right?). It is pretty damn sweet. Even my husband, leader of the anti-Apple jihad, commented that it was “pretty cool.”
I mostly avoid email these days (do I really want to be that easy to reach by my coworkers?) but I would love to check flickr or twitter on the road. And I love Google maps. But still… I’m having a hard time justifying the cost when I could use that perfectly good money upgrading my camera.
