Show: Big Boy Lucas and His Birthday Crew

Check out the slideshow for our little boy’s birthday. It was a blast! So many babies and kids…must be a sign of the times. Thanks to Mom who took a few of these shots with her cam…and to Huey for the group shot.

Website Update: Engagements

I’m in the process of updating the portfolio images on the website and I’ve added a long overdue “Engagements” section. I’m kinda itching to update the whole website format because I’m not feeling the new menu, but, for now, these updates will suffice. I’ll be updating the “Weddings” section in the next day or so. Check out the new section and let me know what you think!

Big Birthday Bash Number Two

It happened 12 days after his real birthday, but Lucas finally had his big 2nd birthaday bash yesterday. We set up everything at the park near my Mom’s house in Tustin and it was quite the party. We had the jumper for the kids (and big kids!), the face/hand painting clown and even a visit from our Sesame Street neighbors. Lucas was excited from the get go and he didn’t stop all day long. He had a blast and we’re so happy that he was able to enjoy every little part of his birthday. From jumping around like a big boy in the jumper to blowing out the candle on his cake, he was game.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it out for some hectic fun. Thanks for all the cool gifts which he hasn’t even opened yet and thanks to those who contributed to his college fund (it is for real, people!…for those with kiddies, check out a 529 Account near you). And lastly, thanks to Gramma, who helped plan most of the events and goings on for the big bash!

Today, I feel…

OLD.

It was a pretty hectic weekend full of so much fun but super draining. I shot a wedding on Saturday with the one and only Joe Photo and then yesterday, Sunday, we had the big 2nd birthday bash for Lucas at the park (Photos coming soon!). So now, I am up at 4am, can’t sleep and have this insane pain in my lower back. Wow! I never had sort of back pain before and I concluded that it could only be one thing…I’m not a young pup anymore.

It couldn’t have been the standing around during our wedding shoot on Saturday, since I’m pretty used to that by now. It couldn’t have been the standing around at the park BBQing by the grill…I do that all the time. It coulnd’t have been the lugging of crates of drinks and 60lbs of ice from the car. It couldn’t have been the jumping in the kiddie jumper. It couldn’t have been throwing around the football or shooting some hoops at the basketball court. But, I realized that if you do all of those things, add an out-of-shape 29 year old body and you will get back pain unlike any other!

Yes, Tey probably thinks I’m a big baby crying about my pain, but it hurts! And she has to listen to my whining! So, now, I’ll be trying to sleep in my belly…on the floor, cringing with every movement. Thirty is around the corner and it’s pulling me in with its tractor beams. So, I’ll probably be trying to get in better shape and eating a little healthier. Kids, take care of your bodies and eat your Flintstones vitamins!

This is me back in the day…a time without aches and pains. Yes, it’s true! Lucas and I are twins! ;)

Phots: Phone Shots

Here are some random shots from my new phone. I’m trying to use it more and more, for those times that I’ve been caught without my camera. The quality is actually kinda decent, a bit better than my old Nokia. Images are kinda soft, which I don’t mind actually, but I wish I could bump up the contrast a little (in camera/phone). But hey what can you expect from a tiny hole on the corner of a phone. Technology is seriously getting pretty ridiculous. I mean my dad’s phone (Sony Ericsson) has a 5 megapixel camera! Pretty nuts when you think that I’ve only had a digital camera for only 5 years now.

Clockwise from top left: Tey at Yamashiro for our 4 year wedding anniversary yesterday, Shot from the top of Yamashiro (Hollywood Hills), Tey using her “Old and Busted” Blackberry!, Darth Vader Roll: spicy tuna roll made with black rice!, Us at the restaurant, Menu, Tey waiting around during our 7/7/7 wedding, Lucas at South Coast Plaza today, Self portrait looking kinda scruffy at the restaurant.
