Jessica + Michael’s Wedding

It was a special Saturday when we joined Jessica and Michael, along with their close family and friends for their wedding in San Diego, CA. They had a traditional catholic ceremony at the St. Augustine High School Chapel. The reception was held at Michael’s parents’ house in nearby Bonita, CA. There are not that many houses out here in CA that can fit about 20-30 cars on their property! Wow, what a house for a party!! It was so cool to have it at a location that can both fit so many people and still make everyone feel so at home. Congrats guys! Thanks for having us at such cool and intimate event! Some highlights:

Nancy + Terry

On Friday, I met up with Nancy and Terry for a few clicks of the camera. I know Terry through Mark, a good friend of mine, and when he asked if we could do a session, I was excited to do so. Besides the both of them being super smart (both doctors), they are just super sweet people. I had no problem getting them to laugh and just mess around with each other so it was a fun evening. But of course, we had to get Terry into romance mode here and there, and he was up to the task :) Here’s a few samples…including my favorite shot that I titled: The Interruption!

Note: First shoot without 70-200 lens. Trying a lighter engagement lens kit. I shot a ton with the 85 f/1.8 instead.

Lucas Friday #2

We had dinner at Tim and Juna’s last night and Lucas had too much fun. From dipping his Cinnamon Toast Crunch in steak juices to playing with their mini schnauzer, Ellie. Here he is hamming it up for the camera.

I Got Tagged.

Wow, this is my first blog game!! Sheesh, that sounds so 2007! Ok, I got tagged by two blogging buddies who happen to be two of the seriously best photographers out there, Kelley and Dustin. Dustin says that Tey has to play, too. So, I’ll try and get her to post.

So, I have have to write 8 interesting things that you may not know about me and then get 8 other bloggers to do so. Here goes:

  1. I barely remember anything before the 4th grade. And I mean almost nothing.
  2. I know more sports trivia than YOU!
  3. I freaking LOVE 80s hair metal bands.
  4. I don’t wash dishes or fold clothes
  5. My first job ever was selling shoes at Foot Action USA (like Footlocker). And I was good at it, too!
  6. I can eat a 1/2 gallon of ice cream (non mint!) on a hot day!
  7. I had straight blondish/orangish hair when I was little. (compared to my dark fro, now).
  8. I hate coffee or anything mocha flavored.

So now, I’m tagging these cool bloggers. Some photogs, some not. Not sure if they’ll do it, but here goes anyway. A lot of the peeps have been tagged, so please excuse if you are Double-Tagged.

  1. Mariano Friginal
  2. Joseph Huey Thai Bui
  3. Jenna Hazlett
  4. Mark Stites
  5. Jennifer Longaway
  6. Ed Atrero
  7. Lisa Fitts
  8. Jamie Huffman

There you have it. If you leave a comment, tell me something that I probably don’t know about you!!

Victoria + Brian at Marina Village

We spent this past Saturday down in San Diego for Victoria and Brian’s wedding. Everything took place at the Marina Village right on the harbor (near Sea World) and the weather was absolutely perfect…warm with an awesome breeze. We were able to walk around and get some really cool shots. They had a bunch of family from out of town and I got to hang and talk with a few of them. Super friendly people…I loved it. Also wanted to thank Rachelle Brown of Planning Yours. She introduced us to the newlyweds and runs a great event. Congrats to Victoria and Brian…and the whole family!!
