This is a special Lucas Friday…Potty Edition! So, we decided to stop being lazy parents and do the potty training thing with the little dude. We pretty much new that it was time because he would always tell us every time he would go #1 and #2. I guess the diaper thing was so much a part of our routine that we just didn’t get around to it yet. So, we tried it out for the first time last weekend and he did great! I was so proud of him after he went through his first 24 hours without a diaper…I was pretty amazed. Of course we asked him every five minutes if he wanted to go peepee. I’m pretty sure he was thought that we were nuts!

At home, we let him run around bottomless. We figured out that when he wears his little underwear, he kinda thinks they are diapers…total false sense of security and he had a couple mishaps. So, for now, it’s naked Lucas around our house until he gets more comfortable in his underwear. But he kept on wanting to go to the toilet…it’s so fun to see his excitement. After doing his thing, he comes running out of the bathroom and he screams out “Me peepee!!!” while clapping his hands. It’s so cute.

So, here’s to saving some cash on diapers.

So, today is the day that I catch up to my Bub. I’ve made fun of Tey for being older than me since the day I met her, so now she can make fun of me! Today, I am 30…my life is OVERRRR! :) Actually, I feel great and look forward to the best decade of my life…can you say “dramatic”? Anyway, I’ve given myself a free day, so I’ll be on the couch watching Heroes, Dexter and PTI. Thanks to all who were able to make it out to our little gathering on Saturday…it was fun. Of course, my first morning out of my twenties, I wake up with a sore throat and feel like crap…am I going insane or is it all catching up to me?!?! HAHAHAHA. On Sunday, we drove to Loma Linda, CA with my Mom to visit her aunts or “the oldies” as I lovingly refer to them. It’s not too far, about 45 minutes away, but sometimes, the traffic can be brutal and makes traveling out there quite a chore. But it was a nice lazy Sunday and not too many people were out, so it made for a nice drive. Before we left, we were waiting for Tey, so I took my Mom and Lucas to take some quickie portraits. Side note: Lucas calls my Mom “Mum” because he always hears me call her “Mom” and he just copies me. So Grandma is “Mum” and Tey is “Mama” :) The background was set up and since Lucas is such a maniac and cannot keep still for more than 2 minutes, we were only able to take a few shots. But these came out nicely and should find their way into a few frames.

It’s that time again! I shamefully missed last Friday…no idea why. Lucas makes his return in a B&W shot outside of Chuck E. Cheese’s right before Uncle Brian’s birthday party. Lucas was strutting his stuff…as usual.

Last Saturday, we had the honor of joining Sam and John at Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach, CA. We met up with Sam and the ladies early in the morning to get some prep shots of her in Newport Beach and she is just the sweetest! She was looking beautiful all day and was great in front of the camera! They had a very touching ceremony at the chapel there at Tivoli….it was a cool little place. It’s a nice little venue that I have a feeling we’ll be shooting more and more. Thanks to Carrie Goff of Exquisite Event Planning & Design for setting up the show and everything was just great!
