Grace + John’s Wedding at The Japanese Garden

We joined Grace and John at The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on the campus of Long Beach State University. It was such a beautiful place! Definitely one of those locations that you are surprised to find in the middle of a concrete jungle. Grace and John are such a good looking duo! We got some very cool portraits in and around the gardens! I definitely have a few that are my favs of the year. John also did an awesome serenade of Yellow by Coldplay. He has such a great voice! Congrats to Grace and John! Here’s some goodies from the day:

Grace got ready at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach. Really cool spot with great decor.

John and the boys at the Garden waiting.

Some flower girl shenanigans!

Ah, the first glance!

Ceremony spot was such a great scene.

They couldn’t help but break out the smiles.

Got some amazing shots for their portraits. Love this wide.

One of my favs.

Great decor around the garden.

Time to party!

The sweetheart table lit by a flash.

John’s awesome serenade.

Love the slideshow watching shots. Such great stories told by the eyes.

It was dark, but the party was still going!

And finally, here’s a 30 sec. shot of the garden at night.

Family Friday #27

And just like that, Summer is gone! It’s been a blur for us and it’s about to get even crazier! Hard to believe but September and October are our busiest months, so here’s to catching up on our work!

Lucas is now attending daycare/pre-school and he seems to like it now. No more crying at drop-offs and he’s eager to play with all the kids. I was getting sick of all the “I DON’T WANNA GO TO SCHOOL” screaming mornings in the past few months. I guess he’s becoming a big boy pretty fast. On the downside, he’s had the sniffles ever since he started school. And of course, everyone else at home got it too. BOOO!

Nathan just passed his 9 month this past week! He’s is now all over the place, crawling and cruising along the sofa. I can pretty much leave him alone to play by himself, but he keeps on putting stuff in his mouth, crazy boy! I don’t know how many rocks, coins, toys, paper I’ve found in his mouth. Guess I have to keep a closer eye out ;)

Here’s a video of a typical night at our house. Happy weekend!

Kimberly + Stephen at Verandas

It was awesome returning to one of my new favorite venues, Verandas in Manhattan Beach. They have some of the best food anywhere! Kimberly and Stephen were looking their usual best and it was such a tremendous afternoon! They are such a great looking couple and it was so much fun shooting them up and down Rosecrans Ave. As you will see, there is so much awesome color in the area. It was pretty sweet! Check out some quick highlights of a great day. Thanks to Sarah at Verandas, who is the sweetest! and the ladies at Bella Blooms for the great florals. Congrats to Kimberly and Stephen!!

Kimberly waiting to go!

Ashley + Paul’s Engagement Portraits

It was a soft and cloudy day in La Jolla and the light was so super soft. So we were on cruise control photographing Ashley and Paul and had a great session. They even had their picnic basket ready for a bit of relaxation…very cool! Paul is such a crack up and Ashley was so great in front of the cam, such a great combo! Their wedding is coming up super fast and I can’t wait to join them both. Here are a few from the day:
