Baby Update: It’s a…

So the news has been out for a while that we are expecting our second little person in our crazy world this coming December. After not finding out the sex when Lucas was born (which was both fun and stressful), we decided to find out the sex of Baby #2. We’ve all been dying to know what it’s gonna be for the last few months and the debate has raged on within the family. Let’s just play out the scenarios…

  1. A Little Baby Girl: We would balance out our kooky little family and Tey can finally have a teammate. Lucas would have a little sister that he could look after and bug for fashion advice. I would have another girl to stress about as if Tey wasn’t enough to give me a dozen strands of greys. And, the whole family will go super crazy to finally have another little girl in the mix after a seamingly endless line of boys popping out.
  2. A Little Baby Boy: The Garcia family name would NEVER die! My dad would have 7 boys underneath him (4 sons and 3 grandsons)!! I’ll be three away from forming the Garcia 5 and taking over the Billboard Charts. Lucas would have a little brother that he could look after and still bug for fashion advice. And, the whole family will just go just kinda crazy to have another sweaty boy around…so sad ;)

So, let’s get to the goods. Of course, I have to provide a little more suspense, so you’ll have play the slideshow below to find out!!!!!

Trash the What? Trash the Dress.

I met up with a super cool group from OSP down in Laguna Beach to shoot a “Trash the Dress” session with a bunch of models/brides. For those unfamiliar, think of “Trash the Dress” as a type of bridal photo shoot where you don’t have to worry about how your dress will look for the reception. A lot of people misunderstand it and think that the dresses are being ruined, but that is rarely the case. They’re pretty good after a dry cleaning. To me, it’s really just a fun session that allows the bride and the photographer to try all kinds of creative ideas that usually end up in pretty amazing and hot images.

Anyway, I caught up with some friends and also met some really cool people that I’ve been waiting to meet for a while. There ended up being 11 brides and about 20 or so photographers and it was so fun. It was a similar experience to some of the shooting we did in Seattle, so it was kind of a cool flashback. I got pretty soaked…stupid me for wearing jeans. Just imagine how I got home! There was also a crew from the OC Register and the article is up already! Also, Elysium Productions was there to capture the whole thing…I’m sure they got some pretty funny footage. Thanks to the brides/grooms that shot with me, Kelli, Kim, Wendy, Karen & Ben, Allison & Phil and Shannon & Marcelo.

If any brides out there are interested in the concept, let me know and I’ll fill you in on the details. If you are, then you will get some HOT images!!! Check out trashthedress.com for more info. They have a good Why Trash the DressĀ ? section.

Thanks to Nataly for organizing the whole thing!

Here are some goods…I should do a slideshow!

I must be bored…because I’m Twittering

I guess that’s what it’s called. I’m trying out this Twitter thing. For those not yet familiar, it’s basically a site where you update your status so that others can see what you’re doing. Crazy, right? They call it micro-blogging because you are limited to 140 characters and you can submit it via SMS text, Instant Message or via the Web. Then you can receive updates via Text, IM or check the site. It’s pretty funny that people do this, but at the same time somewhat intriguing. Not sure if anyone will be following me, but let’s give it a shot. I’ll make Tey follow me! HAHAH

Not sure how long this will last, but I’ll give it a shot. I’ll be on it using my new phone, so i’ll probably be updating daily. Just when you thought the blog was too much, he’re comes this!

Check out Twitter and my Twiiter page at: http://www.twitter.com/jangarcia. Add me if you like. And if you’re on your iPhone, check out Pocket Tweets. I’ll find a way to add their badge to the blog…maybe. And check out Twittervision.com…intense!

Here’s my fav song lately, call me sappy:

Website Update: Engagements

I’m in the process of updating the portfolio images on the website and I’ve added a long overdue “Engagements” section. I’m kinda itching to update the whole website format because I’m not feeling the new menu, but, for now, these updates will suffice. I’ll be updating the “Weddings” section in the next day or so. Check out the new section and let me know what you think!

Didn’t Really Want It…

Since I’ve been out of town for the last week, I didn’t get a chance to get caught up in all this iPhone hype. I heard about the madness at the Apple and AT&T stores, but just observed from about 9000 miles away. While in the Philippines, I read all the reviews that I could find and was still pretty skeptical about it. It doesn’t have 3G, it doesn’t copy and paste, it doesn’t BCC, it doesn’t use bluetooth to transfer files, it doesn’t take video clips, it doesn’t do this and that, blah, blah, blah. I thought to myself that I would wait and see. Maybe I would get the next version after they fix the bugs. But in my first day back, I just had to stop by the Apple store and play with the little bad boy.

I picked it up, played with it for about 2 minutes. Then I turned to the sales guy next to me and said “If you got’em, I’ll take one!” Pretty crazy! I was just blown away by this little thing. So, I didn’t really want it, but I was just so unbelievably impressed that I let temptation get the best of me. Good thing that I’m already w/ AT&T and that my old Nokia was in need of a replacement. That made it a lot easier. I encourage all of you to go play with one, even if you don’t plan on buying one. Just to see what the fuss is all about. At the least, you can see what all phone manufacturers will be striving to achieve for the next few years. Pretty funny, I took a pic of me holding it with a big grin on my face using my old Nokia phone and emailed it to Tey. She got a kick out of it.

Anyway, that’s my iPhone story…
