Randi + Austin’s Engagement Portraits

Finally got to shoot around the Artist Village in Santa Ana. Pretty cool place. But these two were hot. We met both Randi and Austin at Kimberly and Jeff’s wedding last October. Now it’s their turn! They’re getting married this November in Orange. So get ready for more sweet urban shots then!

Some faves.

Annemarie + Rodney at The Kona Kai

We were down in San Diego again for Annemarie and Rodney’s wedding at The Kona Kai Resort on Shelter Island. I never even knew of this area, so it was cool for me to see the Island. There are some great views of the city from over here….check out the last photo below. I love emotional weddings and there were just so much love in the room. Great speeches and dances! Thanks to Geneene Thornton of Celebrations Event Planning for running the show! Congrats to Annemarie and Rodney!

Off to New Orleans!

I’m off to New Orleans today! I’ll be attending the Image X photography workshop and it should be another great learning experience for me. I’m looking forward to my first time in New Orleans and it should be fun meeting a bunch of talented photogs as well.

I’ll be in workshops during the day so I may not be able to answer calls. Please leave me a message or email and I’ll try to respond as soon as I can. Tey will still be in town, so you can give her a buzz as well. And since I’ll be missing my little dudes over the next few days, I’ll share with you the photo that I’ll be looking at the most…my phone screensaver!

Have a great week!!!

Family Friday #29

What an interesting week it’s been. Not so much shooting but just a bunch of little things going on. We did a shoot for Wildflower Linen on Tuesday which was very cool. It was so cool to see their new and amazing designs up close. The photos are to go in a variety of publications so it’s pretty exciting for us!

Then on Wednesday, I had jury duty…ugh! My first time and it was an interesting experience. A LOT of waiting. So much down time that my phone died in the first 4 hours! Everyone was bitching, trying to get out of it, but since it was my first time, I was keen on learning about the whole process. I was in a pool of 100 potential jurors that were to be selected for a homicide case. It really sounded compelling but I was not able to serve next week so I was excused. I’m sure I’ll be getting another letter next year!

Some news with the kiddos. Lucas doesn’t mind going to school anymore. He says he has two girlfriends at school, Kaitlyn and Cailee. I ask him why they like him and he said that they think his hair is cute! hahahah Damn, I need video of that! Nathan is close to standing on his own and he’s now able to get to all of Lukie’s toys. We’ve had to referee a few wrestling matches, but he still LOVES his big brother. I love seeing his eyes light up and a giant grin erupts when he sees Lucas. It’s really too cute.

Here’s some pics of Lucas while he was helping me test out some lighting setups outside the house. He was mashing some ants! I just LOVE some of the shots I got of him.

Teresa + Brian’s Engagement Portraits

I met up with Teresa and Brian in Metro Pomona. My second time shooting there and it’s getting to be one of my new favorite places for portrait sessions. So many colors and textures AND it was so empty and quiet. I really dig this place. I had so much fun with them and we came away with so many different and fun shots! They weren’t afraid to let out the funny faces…so fun! Here’s a few highlights.
