Family Friday #50

I’m embarrassed to say how long it’s been since my last Family Friday post. Please don’t even do a search. It seems like forever! But it’s here now, so I am at peace :)

Lately, we’ve been noticing the increased struggle in juggling time between family and work. It feels pretty overwhelming at times because I feel that there is so much more that we could be doing to improve our photography and our business. But, of course, we are not the only ones who feel this way. I’m sure every small business owner goes through this struggle. But, I do feel bad when we have to leave the kids for extended periods of time. Hopefully, this year, we can find a better balance when dealing with it all especially as the boys are getting older. Looking forward to our upcoming family trip to Hawaii!!

Lucas is now 3 months away from his 5th birthday. Recently, we found out that he had to get eyeglasses. Not a gigantic surprise, since our family has a history of bad eyes, but I didn’t expect it to come this early. It kinda bummed me out. He’s still getting used to wearing it all the time, but, I think he’s doing well under the circumstances. Here he is w/ his new specs:

Nathan is now 2.5 years old and is entering his first week of early pre-school. He’s so excited because I think he’s tired of spending all day with us. Well, I think we are more excited, but you get what I mean :) He will be going to the same school as his big brother for the next few months before Lucas goes off to Kindergarten in the fall. Lucas is super excited to show off his little brother to all his classmates! Here is Nathan during a recent day trip to the zoo w/ Mommy:

And last but not least, I’m all about the iPad these days. I picked one up last week and here is my quick review: You don’t NEED it, but if you get it, you will LOVE it :)

But even more important, the boys get a kick out of playing with it. Enjoy this quick clip. Happy Weekend to all!

Polly and Carl : UCLA Engagement Session

Polly and Carl are too much fun! I just had the most fun hanging out with them at UCLA for their engagement session. I was just here pretty recently and it can be a challenge to find new places, but we definitely had a great time finding some cool spots. Gotta love when they leave the classrooms open, too! :) But I could probably shoot at UCLA 10 times, and come out with 10 different shoots. It’s pretty awesome. Looking forward to their wedding coming up really soon! A few highlights:

It was an amazing honor for us to go to Thailand for Sam and Tony’s wedding. It was such an awesome trip to a beautiful, beautiful place. The wedding took place at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort which was a gorgeous resort. They had a private beach and it was an amazing backdrop for the whole event! The Thai food spread for dinner was insanely good! The reception was set near the pools and I just kinda knew something fun was gonna happen :) Congrats to Sam and Tony!! Take a look at some highlights from an unforgettable wedding.

I’ve always love going to San Francisco, but this trip was a special one for me. I was a bit worried when we arrived on Friday to pouring rain, but the rest of the weekend was beautiful. I think we bought the Socal sunshine with us ;). I was so excited to shoot Christine and Kelley’s engagement session on Sunday. They are super cute and fun to hang out with. We met up at Union Square and ended with an awesome hike to Lands End. That place is pretty and the view is incredible. It’s a must see if you are ever in San Francisco. They are getting married in a few weeks and I can’t wait!!! Enjoy!

Quynh and Adam : UCLA Engagement Session

One step onto the UCLA campus and you immediately get a sense of grandeur. It really is a beautiful place with great architecture and landscape. I’ve been there a handful of times and it’s still cool to see the historical buildings and feel the buzz of student life. I met up with Quynh and Adam and we had a cool time shooting around along with a bunch of walking. There are just so many places to go…but that is definitely a good problem to have. They are getting married in Piedmont, CA which is right outside of Oakland. Can’t wait! Here are a few favs:
